Materials needed:
- Yarn
- Knitting needles
Instructions:
1. Begin by making a slip knot and placing it on the needle.
2. Hold the needle with the slip knot in your right hand and the empty needle in your left hand.
3. Insert the left needle into the slip knot from left to right, pointing it away from you.
4. Wrap the yarn around the right needle counterclockwise, bringing the yarn under and then over the right needle.
5. Use the tip of the right needle to pull the loop of yarn through the slip knot, bringing the new stitch onto the right needle.
6. Slip the new stitch onto the left needle, keeping the yarn at the back of the work.
7. Repeat steps 3-6 until you have the desired number of stitches on the left needle.
Note: The key to the knitting on cast-on method is to keep the tension of the yarn consistent. Be sure to pull the yarn snugly after each stitch, but not so tight that it becomes difficult to work subsequent stitches.
