Delicious Italian-Style Lasagna Recipe with Ground Meat

If you're curious about how to make lasagna at home, we're here with a video tutorial for our mouthwatering lasagna recipe.

Ingredients for Lasagna Recipe:
For Bechamel Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 tablespoon of flour
- 3 cups of milk

For Ground Meat Filling:
- 1 medium-sized onion
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder (if unavailable, use 1 grated garlic clove)
- 300 grams of ground meat
- 2 grated tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1/4 cup of water
- 1 teaspoon each of black pepper, red pepper flakes, and cumin

Instructions for Making Lasagna:
- Start by making the bechamel sauce. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter, then add 1 tablespoon of flour and cook until it's well combined.

- After the flour is cooked in the butter, add 3 cups of milk and cook until it thickens and starts to bubble.

- Once it starts bubbling from the middle, add salt and black pepper, stir one last time, and remove from heat. After it cools down, you can add a little finely chopped parsley and mix.

- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan. Add grated onion and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder (or grated garlic) to the heated oil, and cook until the onion turns golden brown.

- When the onion is cooked, add 300 grams of ground meat and continue to cook.

- Once the meat is cooked, add 2 grated tomatoes, 1 tablespoon of tomato paste, 1 tablespoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon each of black pepper, red pepper flakes, and cumin. Stir and cook until everything is well combined.

- When the mixture comes together, add 1/4 cup of water and simmer for another 5 minutes on low heat.

- Pour 1 ladle of bechamel sauce into the bottom of the baking dish. We used a square dish.

- Arrange the lasagna sheets from the package on top without any further preparation. You can also boil them, but for convenience, we placed them without boiling. When buying lasagna sheets, look for ones that say "no need to boil" on the package for an easier lasagna recipe. If it says they must be boiled, you can boil them in hot water for about 15 minutes like pasta, then place them in the dish.

- Add another layer of lasagna sheets on top of the bechamel sauce, then add more bechamel sauce on top and spread the meat sauce evenly.

- Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese on top of the meat, then add another layer of lasagna sheets.

- Again, pour bechamel sauce and spread it, then add the meat sauce, and on top of that, add grated cheddar cheese. Following our dish size, we made 6 layers of lasagna sheets, using a total of 12 lasagna sheets. When you apply the lasagna recipe, distribute the bechamel sauce, meat filling, and grated cheese evenly to all layers and areas, making sure no sheet is left uncovered.

- Close the top layer with lasagna sheets, pour bechamel sauce thoroughly, and sprinkle plenty of grated cheddar cheese on top. Then, bake the lasagna in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius for approximately 20 minutes.

- Slice the lasagna when you take it out of the oven and serve it hot. You won't be able to get enough of its delicious taste. It's both saucy and tender, with the lasagna sheets and meat filling creating an incredible flavor.

The original lasagna recipe is made with mascarpone cheese. In our recipe, we use a sauce prepared by adding mascarpone cheese and eggs instead of the bechamel sauce. Since we prepared it with the widely used bechamel sauce in our country, we named the recipe "Turkish-style Lasagna."

Lasagna sheets are now readily available in almost every supermarket. If you're wondering what lasagna sheets are, you can think of them as flattened pasta.
