Turning Waste Oil into Natural Clay Soap: A Practical Recipe

In today's world, as environmental awareness continues to grow, contributing to the environment by recycling waste materials and using natural products becomes increasingly important. In this article, we share a practical recipe for making natural clay soap from leftover frying oil, allowing you to turn waste oil into a skin-friendly product at home.

**Ingredients:**
- 100 grams of waste oil
- 13 grams of caustic soda (NaOH)
- 30 grams of ice (normal water can also be used)
- 1 teaspoon of clay

**Instructions:**
Carefully mix caustic soda and ice or water. Remember to wear protective goggles, gloves, and a mask during this step, and perform the process in an open area away from children. The mixture may be hot and can splash, so be cautious.
Allow the caustic soda and water mixture to cool.
Pour the waste oil into a container.
Add the cooled caustic soda-water mixture to the oil while stirring continuously. Also, add the clay and continue stirring until the mixture thickens and reaches a pudding-like consistency.
Pour the thickened mixture into a mold and let it sit for 4 to 6 weeks to complete the saponification reaction.

After the caustic soda and water mixture has cooled, you can proceed with the other steps of soap making at home. There is no risk at this stage. Let the mixture sit and allow the soap to harden. Once hardened, cut the soap into pieces for use.

Making clay soap from waste oils not only offers an environmentally friendly solution but also an economical one. You can produce a surplus for sale or stock up for your own use.
