How to Dye Fabric with Tea: A Natural and Traditional Method

If you're not keen on using chemical dyes or don't have fabric dye on hand, here's one of the most natural and traditional fabric dyeing methods using tea.

**Materials Needed for Tea Fabric Dyeing:**
- 1 box of tea bags (approximately 20 bags)
- 1 bottle of fixative (optional)
- 1 basin of boiling water
- 1/2 cup of white vinegar

**Steps for Dyeing Fabric with Tea:**
1. Begin by pouring 2 liters of boiling water into a basin for the natural fabric dyeing process.
2. Add approximately 15 to 20 tea bags to the boiling water and stir gently to allow the tea essence to infuse into the water.
3. Once the tea has imparted its color to the water, remove the tea bags from the basin.
4. Place the fabric to be dyed into the hot tea-infused water and pour in 1/2 cup of white vinegar.
5. Ensure the fabric is fully submerged in the water by placing a plate or similar object on top, and let the fabric soak in the tea solution overnight.
6. The next day, rinse the dyed fabric thoroughly, and optionally, add 1 bottle of fixative to a basin of lukewarm water and soak the dyed fabric in it for 30 minutes.
7. Hang the fabric to dry without wringing or rinsing it.
8. Once dry, your fabric is ready to use.

Using black tea for fabric dyeing is one of the easiest techniques, and you can also use this method for dyeing lace.
