A Simple and Elegant Knitting Pattern for Vests
This time, I am sharing an easy-to-follow knitting pattern for those who prefer a single-color design. Previously, this pattern was explained using three colors for a vest. Now, it is presented in a plain version for clarity.
Setting Up the Model
To begin, stitches are cast onto the needle. Two rows of garter stitch are knitted. There are 20 stitches on the needle: 18 stitches for the pattern, with one stitch on each side as an edge stitch.
This pattern consists of two rows and is completed using groups of three stitches. The first row is worked from the wrong side, and the knitting starts on the plain side. The initial row is knitted in stockinette stitch, but this row is not part of the pattern.
Knitting the Pattern
First Row (Wrong Side):
All stitches are knitted in purl.
Since no specific pattern action is required, stitches are knitted normally.
Second Row (Right Side):
The edge stitch is knitted first.
Knit three stitches.
Take the second stitch from the left needle and pass it over the other two stitches.
A new stitch is added to replace the missing stitch.
Repeat the process: knit three stitches, pass the first stitch over the other two, and add a stitch.
Continue this sequence until the end of the row, finishing with an edge stitch.
Third Row (Wrong Side):
All stitches are knitted in purl again.
The wrapped stitches are knitted in a way that creates small holes, adding a decorative effect.
Fourth Row (Right Side):
The pattern is shifted slightly.
The edge stitch is knitted.
Knit three stitches, take the first stitch, and pass it over the other two.
Add a stitch and repeat the process across the row.
The increase stitches align with the previous pattern row, maintaining consistency.
Fifth Row (Wrong Side):
All stitches are knitted in purl.
Continuing the Pattern
The model is repeated, maintaining the alignment with previous rows. This pattern is suitable for both women's and children's knitwear. It is a simple yet elegant design that progresses quickly, making it ideal for vests.
The vest featuring this pattern will be published on my channel once the tutorial is complete. The design is visually appealing and easy to knit, making it a perfect project for a relaxed and enjoyable knitting session.
