Did you know you can dye clothes using hibiscus flowers? This natural method is simple, effective, and gives stunning results. In this post, we’ll show you how we turned a plain white cotton tank top into a vibrant, eye-catching piece using only natural ingredients.

Start by boiling 2 liters of water and adding 1 tablespoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, and 1.5 cups of dried hibiscus flowers. Place the cotton item you want to dye (we used a white tank top) into the pot.

Heat on medium until it starts boiling. Once it boils, continue simmering for at least 45 minutes, stirring the fabric every 5 minutes to ensure even color.

After boiling, place a plate on top of the fabric to keep it submerged and let it cool in the colored water for at least 3 hours.

Next, pour a fabric dye fixative into a basin of clean water and transfer the dyed fabric directly into this solution—don’t rinse it first. Let it soak for 30 minutes.

Finally, hang the fabric to dry without rinsing or wringing. Once it’s completely dry, your beautifully dyed item is ready to wear!

This natural technique is a great way to refresh old clothes with a unique and eco-friendly twist. Want to see the process step by step? Watch the full video on our Harika Ev İşleri YouTube channel!
