Scabies is a skin condition that has become increasingly common in recent years, causing irritating itching on the skin and presenting a rather discomforting skin disorder. Scabies is caused by a microscopic mite called Sarcoptes scabiei var. hominis, measuring about 0.5 mm in size, which is not visible to the naked eye. In the medical field, scabies is referred to as scabies or scabies infestation.

Unfortunately, scabies is not a self-resolving condition and requires treatment. Cream treatment is prescribed for scabies. This skin condition can be transmitted through approximately half-hour contacts or through the use of the same products in household or workplace environments. It is commonly encountered in all individuals within a household. Therefore, treatment is applied collectively by the family.

While doctors recommend creams and lotions in the form of medication for treatment, in this article, we provide a recipe for a homemade natural scabies cream using natural oils. The oils and products used for the natural scabies cream are substances that the scabies mite dislikes and that help it separate from the skin. Scabies is treated by completely removing the mite from the skin. If it is not completely eliminated from the body, it can recur. Additionally, if it does not completely leave the home, it can continuously transmit among individuals.

Ingredients for Natural Scabies Cream

2 tablespoons of white vinegar

1 tablespoon of olive oil

1 tablespoon of tea tree oil

1 tablespoon of St. John's Wort

1 teaspoon of lavender oil

1 teaspoon of coconut oil

1 tablespoon of petroleum jelly

1 teaspoon of baking soda

Making Scabies Cream
- Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 2 tablespoons of vinegar. The mixture will froth.

- In a bowl, add 1 tablespoon of petroleum jelly and all the oils, then melt and mix using a double boiler.

- Once the oils are mixed with the petroleum jelly, remove from heat and pour in the vinegary mixture, stirring well.

- Finally, if available, add fresh mint leaves and let them steep. Fresh mint is optional. The scabies mite does not like its scent, but if you can't find it, it's not a problem.

- Apply the scabies cream by spreading it all over your body, starting from under your chin.

- Repeat as needed.
