We present you with the recipe for Chicken Kapama, also known as Immigrant's Delight, a complete and hearty dish perfect for gatherings. With tender and delicious chicken combined with seasoned rice cooked in chicken broth, here's how you can make Chicken Kapama.

Ingredients for Tavuk Kapama Recipe:

- 1 whole chicken, approximately 1.5-2 kilograms
- 3 cups of chicken broth (hot)
- 3 cups of rice
- Salt, cumin, red pepper flakes, black pepper
- 1 medium-sized onion
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

Spiced Chicken Pilaf Preparation:

1. Marinate the shredded whole chicken with salt, cumin, red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Leave it in the refrigerator for half an hour.

2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry the chicken on both sides until they turn golden brown. You don't need to fry them too much; once both sides are nicely browned, it's enough.

3. After frying, transfer the chicken to a plate. In the same oil, add the grated medium-sized onion and sauté.

4. Once the onion is sautéed, add 3 cups of rice to the pan and continue to sauté. When the rice is well-sauteed, add 3 cups of hot chicken broth. Stir a bit, then remove from heat and immediately spread the mixture into a baking dish or tray.

5. Arrange the fried chicken on top of the rice mixture.

6. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for approximately 35-40 minutes, or until the pilaf absorbs the liquid.

Your flavorful spiced chicken pilaf, Chicken Kapama, is ready. Enjoy!

Spicing up the chicken adds an extra layer of deliciousness. As the chicken browns, the spices infuse the oil, and when you sauté the onion and rice in the same oil, it imparts an incredible flavor to the pilaf underneath. The traditional Immigrant's Delight recipe is not typically very spicy, so we've enhanced it by adding the spices the chicken loves.

In the Southeastern region, it's called tavuk büryan, while in Anatolia, it's known as Immigrant's Delight. This wonderful baked chicken pilaf serves as both an appetizer and a main course, making it a perfect dish for special occasions. As you can see, making Chicken Pilaf is quite easy.

Chicken Pilaf is usually baked in the oven. There are also recipes where the chicken is not boiled beforehand, and the chicken pieces are directly placed in the oven.
