Easy Fruit Cake Recipe Using Ready-Made Cake Base

Learn how to easily make a fresh cake using store-bought cake bases. With this recipe, your cakes will look like they came straight from a bakery. You can also apply our elegant fresh cake recipe to other brand's ready-made cake bases. Feel free to use different fruit slices for a variation, just like in our recipe for a Banana Cake using a store-bought base.

Ingredients for Cake with Store-Bought Base:
- 3 layers of ready-made cake base
- Milk for soaking

For the Filling:
- 2 cups of milk
- 2 tablespoons of flour
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1 egg
- 2 Turkish delight pieces (optional)

For the Topping:
- Whipped cream
- Cake decorations
- Tart jelly

Let's get started with making a cake using a store-bought base!

Instructions for Making Cake with Ready-Made Cake:
1. To start making the cake with a ready-made base, begin by preparing the filling. In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of milk, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and 1 egg. Cook over medium heat until it boils. If desired, add 2 pieces of rose Turkish delight and stir until the Turkish delight is melted. Then, add 1 tablespoon of butter and remove from heat.

2. In this recipe, we used 3 layers of cake base. After placing each layer, make holes on top and soak with approximately 3 tablespoons of milk (How much milk to soak the ready-made cake?).

3. Spread half of the filling on the first layer, place pineapple and banana slices, and cover with the second layer. You can use different fruits according to your preference.

4. Repeat the same process for the remaining layers. Apply a thin layer of whipped cream all over the cake.

5. Place 6 wooden skewers parallel on top and sprinkle cake decorations row by row.

6. Pour tart jellies with red and blue food coloring in between the cake decorations.

7. Sprinkle grated dark chocolate in a row.

8. Drip red jelly from the edges to let it flow downwards. You can watch all the steps in the video below.

9. Fill a whipped cream bag with cherry jam for coloring and apply whipped cream to decorate the edges of the cake.

10. Let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours before serving. Enjoy your cake!
